Phane

In December and April, Tswapong is swarming with the caterpillars from the eggs of the mophane moth. Within a couple of weeks, they eat the leaves from every mophane tree in the area. Our members then harvest the caterpillars which form a staple part of the diet for millions of people in Southern Africa. Phane is very nutritious and can be eaten cold as a snack or cooked in a sauce for meals. Members have received extensive training to ensure that KyT phane is among the highest quality phane available in Southern Africa. Available in 375g and 750g packs.
