a remote hilly area of Eastern Botswana, 1,100 rural women producers are forging
a new model of rural development.
Spread across 25 villages
in the Tswapong Hills, the women are harvesting and marketing a range of natural
resource products. Working within Kgetsi ya Tsie Womens Community Trust, they
are harnessing traditional, indigenous knowledge to the demands of the international
marketplace. Supported by a revolving loan fund to provide capital for equipment
and supplies, they are generating an income to support their families.
Their products are successful
too. Their pure and natural cold-pressed marula
oil is fast establishing home and international markets due to its exceptional
skin care properties, along with a handmade marula
When customers buy products with the Kgetsi ya Tsie (KyT) label, they can rest safe in the knowledge that:
* They are produced to rigorous quality standards;
* They are completely pure and natural, with no artificial ingredients;
* No KyT products are tested on animals:
* All KyT products are sustainably harvested.
